Two of the most intriguing destinations in Southeast Asia, this 14 day itinerary gives you the chance to explore and discover all the wonders of both Myanmar and Thailand. Beginning in Myanmar you’ll start in lively Yangon before heading to the ancient city of Bagan where you can explore the mystic temple fields, next up you’ll visit Inle Lake which is easily one of the most beautiful spots in the whole of Myanmar before heading to Thailand. Spend some time exploring the bustling streets of Bangkok before rounding off your whole holiday with some days spent on the beaches of Phuket, perfect for relaxing and working on your tan after all your time spent exploring.

Days 1 – 2: Sule Shangri-La, Yangon (BB)
After arriving in Myanmar be met and transferred to the Sule Shangri-La Yangon where you will be staying for the next 2 nights. This luxurious hotel is the perfect basepoint for getting out and exploring Yangon, ensuring that after a busy day spent wandering the city’s streets you can return back to your inviting hotel to refresh and rest up.

One of Southeast Asia’s most exciting city’s, Yangon offers all manner of things to see, do and discover. The major attraction of this city of course has to be the glittering Shwedagon Paya which attracts pilgrims and visitors from around the world, so make sure you find time to see it during your stay. Full of Buddhist temples and monuments, this is a great place to appreciate Myanmar’s culture. As well as temples, be sure to also pay a visit to the local markets and really get a feel for the way of life here.

Days 3 – 4: Bagan Lodge, Bagan (BB)
After some time spent in the bustling metropolis of Yangon head to Myanmar’s ancient city of Bagan and specifically the Bagan Lodge where you will spend the next 2 nights. A charming boutique hotel, Bagan Lodge features traditionally Burmese décor throughout that really helps you feel connected to your destination, although you’ll still find all the modern amenities and facilities needed for a truly comfortable stay.

Famous for its sprawling temple fields which house the remnants of hundreds of ancient temples, people flock from around the globe to witness the amazing sights on offer here. Spend some time exploring the temples, check out our blog if you need a brief guide to them, but be sure to also visit the towns where you can sample Burmese cuisine and see the lacquerware that is traditionally made here.

Days 5 – 6: Villa Inle Resort, Inle Lake (BB)
Next up its time to head to one of the most beautiful parts of Myanmar, Inle Lake where you will spend the next 2 nights at the enchanting Villa Inle Resort. Set amongst lush gardens, this is the perfect resort for relaxing and basking in the natural beauty of your surroundings.

Inle Lake is such a unique destination; the joy of the place simply comes from exploring and uncovering its many delights. An endless blue lake interspersed with houses on stilts, modern and traditional boats, temples housed on islands, the best way to discover Inle Lake is to hire a boat yourself and see what you come across. There’s thing to see on land too, with the stupas and markets certainly worth a visit.

Days 7 – 8: The Sukhothai, Bangkok (BB)
It’s now time to leave the serene world of Inle Lake and Myanmar as a whole as you head to the exciting city of Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. Arrive at the airport and be transferred to The Sukhothai where you will be staying for the next 2 nights. While Bangkok may be busy and lively, this hotel provides a calm haven perfect for relaxing when you want a break from the city.

There’s so much to see and do in Bangkok that your time spent here is sure to be jam-packed full of activities. You can visit the beautiful temples which are scattered about the place, do some shopping whether it’s at one of the many malls or at one of the bustling night markets, dine at some of the top restaurants, the options are endless.

Days 9 – 14: Sala Phuket Resort & Spa, Phuket (BB)
What’s a visit to Thailand without some time spent on the beach? To round off your holiday you’ll spend your final few days at the beautiful beach side resort Sala Phuket Resort & Spa. This is a resort where you can do as much or as little as you like, simply lounge on the beach and soak up the sun, opt for some water sports, head to the spa, ask the resort to arrange an excursion to visit the temples, it’s completely up to you!
