Best time to go

The best time to visit is in Spring and Autumn. Luang Prabang’s wet season stretches from July to September, but even then rainfall isn’t prolific. In the winter temperatures can dip to an average of 16 degrees in the coldest month of January.

  Dining

In keeping with Amantaka’s commitment to authenticity, its dining venues specialise in exquisite examples of Lao and French-influenced cuisine. The resort’s main restaurant provides an airy colonial ambience, whilst the beautifully situated Pool Terrace is the ideal venue for a casual lunch or dinner.

The Lounge Bar offers an elegant atmosphere in which to enjoy a pre-dinner aperitif or a late night snifter; whilst those in search of a more intimate setting may choose to arrange a private dining experience. Private dining venues include any number of secluded locations throughout Amantaka, as well as in the privacy of the guest’s own suite. 

Amantaka offers 24 suites ranging in size from 230 to 400 square feet. In all 24 suites, the living and bedroom areas open onto tranquil outdoor spaces that feature lounges and umbrellas. Each bathroom comes complete with twin vanities, a dressing area, shower, toilet and separate island bathtub; whilst other suite amenities include a writing desk, table and chairs, chaise lounge, and a private bar.

Suites

These eight charming suites each feature a king size bed, and high ceilings that lend them an atmosphere of timeless elegance.

Pool Suites

Similar in all other respects to the standard Suites, these beautiful rooms offer the added luxury of a private pool, located just beyond the lounge doors.

Khan Pool Suites

Also featuring a private pool and outdoor lounge area, the Khan Pool Suites additionally include a spacious indoor lounge complete with beautiful garden views.

Mekong Pool Suites

These two suites each boast their own private pool, as well as interiors that are even more spacious than those of the previous three suite types.

Amantaka Pool Suite

The two Amantaka Pool Suites stand alone, and are surrounded by large verandas. Each one offers generous living rooms, as well as a larger private pool, a garden and a private relaxation sala.

Aman Villa

Situated within close proximity to Amantaka and therefore offering easy access to the resort facilities, the Aman Villa was originally completed in 1923 as the Viceroy family residence of Prince Boun Khong. It offers three or four bedrooms (depending on the number of guests), spacious living areas, a private swimming pool, a beautiful garden and dedicated staff.
