Experience the very best that the Deep South has to offer with our 14 day fly drive. Starting in Atlanta, you will then head to Nashville, the country music capital of the world before making your way to Memphis, home of Graceland, blue, rock n' roll and BBQ. After 3 nights in Memphis, it's time to head to Natchez, a beautiful old city in Mississippi, which is famous for its numerous antebellum homes before making your way to your final stop, New Orleans. This iconic city has so much to offer the traveller - great music (the city invented jazz), beautiful old buildings, unique food and a vibrant nightlife scene. Whatever your interests are they'll be plenty to keep everyone in your party entertained in the Deep South.

Day 1: UK Departure & Arrival
Depart London Heathrow on a direct daylight flight to Atlanta. Upon arrival, collect the hire car from the airport and make your way to the Loews hotel to check in for a 2 night stay.
Evening at leisure.

Day 2: Atlanta
Atlanta is a major hub, a major commercial centre and the major gateway to the South. Elegant architecture co-exists with a forest of glass and steel. There is plenty of real greenery too – magnolias, dogwoods, Southern pines and oaks abound. It has an exploding arts scene, while its Bohemian neighbourhoods host a mélange of restaurants alongside the traditional southern specialists.

Days 3-5: Nashville
This morning drive 4 hours to the country music capital of Nashville and check into the Renaissance hotel for a 3 night stay. Music City comes by its name honestly. At any given time, there's country on at the Grand Ole Opry or the Ryman Auditorium, rock at Mercy Lounge, singer-songwriters at the Bluebird Cafe, and a little bit of everything on Lower Broad. But when you need a break from toe-tapping, head for hot chicken at Hattie B's, worked off with a run around the Parthenon in Centennial Park or a walking tour of the Gulch or East Nashville. It's hard to be bored here.

Days 6-8: Memphis
Drive 3 hours to Memphis where the roots of blues, country and gospel music formed in the 1930s. Visit The Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum and stroll at your own pace through the seven galleries featuring audio visual programs, instruments, costumes and other musical treasures. No visit to Memphis is complete without a tour of Graceland. After dinner, spend time on Beale Street, a melting pot of delta blues, jazz, rock n' roll, R&B, and gospel. Enjoy the famous Peabody Memphis, your home for the next 3 nights.

Day 9: Natchez
Drive 5 hours to Natchez. History runs deep in this historic Southern city, the oldest settlement on the Mississippi River. Many of the town's antebellum homes are open for public tours. Stay for 1 night at the Monmouth Historic Inn, surrounded by 26 acres of beautifully maintained gardens.

Days 10-12: New Orleans
Drive 2 hours to New Orleans. Check into the W New Orleansl, French Quarter for your final 3 nights stay. Visit the galleries and vintage shops, the Garden District’s quiet streets. Look up our flights to New Orleans and our holidays to New Orleans: moss-hung oaks and Southern hospitality await. Music is a part of life here and you won’t have to travel far to hear it seeping down the streets like mud in the bayou. This is the city that invented jazz, after all. Come for wild nights, but stay for the state of elegant decay afterwards- the atmospheric cemeteries, the sophisticated touch of French and Spanish influence crumbling off beautiful old buildings. Then restore yourself with the warm heartiness of a good old gumbo.
