Located in the historic Haslett Warehouse, the Argonaut's home is a grand building built in 1907 of exposed brick, Douglas Fir beams and so much seaside character; you feel as though you can almost reach out and touch the colourful Barbary Coast past here. Our boutique hotel is also celebrated for an unsurpassed level of 4-Diamond service and amenities that provide an unforgettable destination experience. Couple that with a positively perfect location at San Francisco's most famous address: perched on the edge of the Bay at Fisherman's Wharf, and it’s easy to see why the hotel is so coveted.

Day 4: San Francisco to Napa Valley

Only in the Napa Valley could a tiny rural village boast more Michelin stars per capita than any other place in North America. Yountville is that village, and the stars belong to The French Laundry (which has 3) and Bouchon. Here you can have day of fine wine and great food, indulge in spa treatments at Bardessono then steep yourself in French country charm at the intimate, romantic Lavender Inn.

Bardessono is a newly defined experience in hospitality that weds "deep green" with luxury, a subtle aesthetic, privacy and graciousness. This 62-room hotel with its Restaurant, Bar, Pool and in-suite spa butler program models hospitality after the enduring expressions of land and family that fostered and sustained the original Bardessono family farmstead.

Overnight at: The Bardessono in a King room on a room only basis

Day 5: Napa Valley to Big Sur

Big Sur is a rugged stretch of California’s central coast between Carmel and San Simeon. Bordered to the east by the Santa Lucia Mountains and the west by the Pacific Ocean, it’s traversed by narrow, 2-lane State Route 1, known for winding turns, seaside cliffs and views of the often-misty coastline. The sparsely populated region has numerous state parks for hiking and beachcombing.
In the mountains above the sea is a place of extraordinary beauty, Ventana Inn & Spa - a magnificent Central Coast California resort. In Spanish, Ventana means window, and no more fitting name could be chosen for this Big Sur resort. Ventana Inn & Spa is a window to the dramatic vistas of the Pacific ocean, along with the green and gold flowered hills of the rugged Big Sur Coast.

Overnight at: Ventana Inn in a Ventana room on a room only basis

Day 6: Big Sur to Los Angeles

Santa Monica Pier is home to the Pacific Park amusement park, historic Looff Hippodrome Carousel and Santa Monica Pier Aquarium. Next to the pier is Muscle Beach, an outdoor gym established in the 1930s. In the city centre, Bergamot Station houses several art galleries.

The Viceroy Santa Monica fuses classic sophistication and contemporary chic to create a thoroughly modern and uniquely luxurious Santa Monica beach boutique hotel. Whether for business or pleasure, experience exceptional seaside living, luxurious accommodations, exquisite dining options and the finest amenities at this Santa Monica hotel by the beach.

Immense Balboa Park is the site of the renowned San Diego Zoo, as well as numerous art galleries, artist studios, museums and gardens. A deep harbour is home to a large active naval fleet, with the USS Midway, an aircraft-carrier-turned-museum, open to the public.
Catch a wave or simply catch some rays from the ocean-facing deck at San Diego’s Tower23 hotel, a mod surfside stay a few paces from the ocean. You can practically toss a pebble into the Pacific from your room’s private balcony or the hotel’s beachfront sundeck. Take a seat at local’s favourite JRDN restaurant, and nibble on the catch-of-the-day as you witness the sun melt into the sea.
