The Sanctuary Yangtze is one of only two 5 star ships on the Yangtze and is the best way to see this legendary river in comfort. The ship is comprised of five floors and caters for up to 124 passengers. There are 62 cabins on board, all are en-suite with private balconies.

Best time to go

Generally speaking, the best months to visit China are in the spring or autumn months of April, May, September and October as temperatures are warm and it is fairly dry.

The Sanctuary Yangtze Explorer offers innovative menus with the finest Chinese and continental cuisine. A team of internationally trained chefs ensure the lunches and dinners are taste experiences, all complimented with the house wines. There is also a well-stocked wine cellar. 

With a total of 62 cabins on board, there are a variety of options to choose from to ensure comfort and amenities. 

Deluxe Cabins - This is the largest entry level cabin of its kind on the Yangzi River at 31 square metres and a private balcony. The cabin is fully equipped with LCD Satellite TV, electronic safe, mini bar and fridge.

Suite Cabins -  The ideal choice for a family of three guests, the cabin is still spacious after adding an extra bed.

Mandarin and Jade Suites - These suites both have separate bedroom and living room areas and are decorated with traditional Chinese décor. 

Celestial and Imperial Suites - These suites both have separate bedroom and living room areas. The spacious suites are the largest on the Yangtze at 110 square metres, designed with traditional luxury Chinese décor and provide the highest levels of modern comforts whilst sailing down the River.
