This 11 day twin-centre holiday allows you to see some of the best parts of Sri Lanka, while giving you the freedom to decide what you wish to do with your time. Whether you simply want to relax and make the most of your all-inclusive stay, or pack your days full of exciting activities, you can personalize your holiday to meet your own needs. Part of your time will be spent inland in Nuwara Eliya, a lush green location home to an abundance of tea plantations, while the rest will be spent in Weligama, a beautiful destination on Sri Lanka’s south coast. You will stay at some of the most luxurious resorts that the country has to offer, enjoying excellent accommodation, service and facilities that are sure to make your holiday even more special.

Best time to go

Sri Lanka has generally good weather year round but does have two monsoon seasons in two different regions. From late May to late September, the southwest lowlands and central hills are affected and from November to February, the northeast side of the island is affected. March to mid-April is generally dry throughout the country as is June to September though it is hot.


Day 1: Departure
Take an overnight flight from London Heathrow to Colombo.

Day 2: Colombo
Upon arrival at Colombo Airport, you will be transferred by private vehicle to the Uga Residence, Colombo for a one night stay in their Park Suite, the rest of your day will be spent at leisure so you can spend some time exploring Sri Lanka’s capital city or enjoying the hotel’s facilities.

Day 3: Nuwara Eliya
This morning you will be transferred by private vehicle to Nuwara Eliya, a journey of approximately four hours. Upon arrival, you’ll check into the Ceylon Tea Trails where you will stay for the following three nights on an all-inclusive basis in a Garden Suite. The rest of your day will be spent at leisure, perhaps choose to treat yourself to a relaxing spa treatment or make use of the hotel’s tennis courts and play a game or two.

Day 4: Nuwara Eliya
Spend your day however you please, although we would recommend experiencing the tea fields and taking a factory tour with the Planter in Residence. Afterwards, you can head back to the hotel where you can take a complimentary mountain bike for a short ride of the surrounding area. For longer rides, we recommend that you take along one of the hotel guides.

Day 5: Nuwara Eliya
For your second full day in Nuwara Eliya, we recommend getting out and seeing the surrounding area by going for a leisurely walk or perhaps an adventure trek for those seeking something a little more active. Alternatively, you could try your hand at a game of croquet, all bungalows have a croquet lawn and unleash your most devious tactics against family and friends with a refreshing Pimms No 1 in hand.

Day 6: Cape Weligama
On your sixth day you will depart in the morning on a seaplane to Cape Weligama, a scenic journey of just 30 minutes, followed by a 45-minute drive to reach the resort. You will spend your next five nights at the resort on an all-inclusive basis in a Junior Suite; you will also be able to enjoy a complimentary selected activity each day.

Day 7: Cape Weligama
On your first full day in Weligama, we recommend checking out the beautiful beach, where the reef provides safe swimming conditions. Continue your relaxing day by making the most out of the facilities that the resort offers, which include a spa, pool, bar, and selection of restaurant.

Day 8: Cape Weligama
After the relaxation of your previous day, we recommend trying something a little more adventurous today. Perhaps book onto a private cruise, go big game fishing, banana boating or depending on the season try whale and dolphin watching; Sri Lanka is the world’s best location for viewing the Blue Whale so be sure to take advantage of this during your stay.

Day 9: Cape Weligama
Today is another spent at leisure, you could treat yourself to one of the in-villa organic spa treatments that are offered by the hotel, or perhaps branch out from the hotel and take a day trip somewhere nearby.

Day 10: Cape Weligama
For your last full day at Cape Weligama spend it however you wish. Perhaps return to the dive centre and enjoy one of the activities you haven’t yet had the chance to, maybe try diving or snorkelling or take a surfing lesson. Alternatively, you could spend your final day in a more relaxing manner, and head to the beach again to soak up some more of the Sri Lankan sunshine.

Day 11: Departure
Today you’ll make the 45-minute drive by road to Mawella Lagoon Airport before taking a 25-minute seaplane to Colombo Airport. Check-in for your daylight flight to London.
