This tour combines the best of Sri Lanka with the peace and remoteness of the Maldives.  Starting off in Colombo, you stay in a newly converted Victorian house, moving onto Sigiriya famed for it’s Rock Fortress.  Enjoy wildlife jeep safaris in the National parks, take a train journey to Nuwara Eliya to explore the rolling tea plantations, trek the Horton Plains and visit the old fort of Galle.  Cocoa Island, Maldives offers a luxury low key setting and offers its own reef, romantic dining and a holistic COMO Shambhala spa which is perfect for ‘you’ time.

Day 1: UK Departure

Overnight flight from London to Colombo.

Day 2:  The Uga Residence (BB)

On arrival, you are met and transferred by private vehicle to The Uga Residence where you will spend your first night.  Your afternoon will be spent at leisure, giving you the chance to enjoy the luxurious resort.

Day 3:  Jetwing Vil Uyana (BB)

This morning you'll transfer by private vehicle north to Sigiriya. This hotel is a haven for nature lovers and enjoys views of Sigiriya Rock.

Day 4: Jetwing Vil Uyana (BB)

Today you climb the 5th Century Sigiriya Rock Fortress - the country’s most memorable single attraction, a remarkable archaeological site made unforgettable by its dramatic setting.  In the evening you'll enjoy a bird watching session.

Day 5: Jetwing Vil Uyana (BB)

Today will be an action-packed day which is sure to be one of the most memorable from your entire trip. You'll have the chance to visit the ruined capital of Polonnaruwa, where the extensive remains offer a snapshot of medieval Sri Lanka, and take a jeep ride in the Minneriya National Park.

Day 6: The Kandy House (BB)

This morning you'll transfer by private vehicle to Kandy, stopping en-route to visit the impressive statues and cave paintings of the Dambulla cave temples before visiting the spice garden at Matale and enjoying a massage. You'll then continue on to Kandy and to The Kandy House where you will spend the next two nights.

Day 7: The Kandy House (BB)

Take a trip to the Udawatta Kele Sanctuary, a unique Forest Park which sustains many ecosystems, flora, fauna and wildlife. In the afternoon enjoy a visit to Peradeniya, the Royal Botanical Gardens. In the evening you'll also have the chance to watch a local Kandyan Dance.

Day 8: Ceylon Tea Trails (BB)

Travel on the Expo Rail train to Nanu Oya and continue by road to Nuwara Eliya, stopping en-route at a local tea plantation.  The Ceylon Tea Trails will be your base for the next two nights.

Day 9: Ceylon Tea Trails (BB)

Today you will have the chance to enjoy a tea experience at the hotel. The Resident Tea Planter will demonstrate the age-old tea making process. First, follow the trail of the planters of old Ceylon, as they trekked through the dense jungle looking for the best slopes on which to plant tea. Then on to watch the tea pluckers pick two leaves and a bud with deft hands. Then to the factory where the all-important conversion to “made” black tea happens. The machinery used is of very traditional British design, some as old as 100 years. The process is a very artisanal one, unchanged for a century, your experience will end with a tasting of different grades of this great brew.

Day 10: Kalu’s Hideaway (BB)

Today you drive on to visit the Udawalawa National Park where there is so much wildlife and scenic beauty to explore.  Overnight you'll stay at Kalu’s Hideaway.

Day 11: Chaaya Wild Yala  (BB)

Depart for the Yala National Park, the country’s largest. Enjoy a luxury jeep safari in search of the ‘Big 3’ - leopards, sloth bears and elephants, although crocodiles, jackals and many varieties of birds can also be spotted.  Overnight at Chaaya Wild Yala

Day 12: Aditya Hotel Resort (BB)

Drive through to historic Galle today, stopping enroute  to visit a Buddhist monastery.  On arrival, you transfer to the Aditya Hotel Resort and enjoy a private tour of the city.   You spend the next two nights at the Aditya Hotel Resort.

Day 13: Aditya Hotel Resort (BB)

Your final day in Sri Lanka will be spent at leisure, enjoy the hotel's facilities or explore nearby before you head off to the Maldives the following day.

Day 14: Cocoa Island, Maldives (BB)

Transfer  by private vehicle to Colombo airport and depart on a short flight to the Maldives. On arrival, you will be met and transferred by shared speedboat to Cocoa Island where you spend the next five nights.

Cocoa Island offers an exclusive overwater retreat in which to relax and rejuvenate or to be active and healthy, enjoying all that the Indian Ocean has to offer. Guests can enjoy world class diving, fishing, yoga, windsurfing, and more. The resort also boasts the Shambhala Retreat Wellness Centre where guests can experience holistic wellness treatments. The dining has a South Indian influence with a focus on organic ingredients.

Days 15-18: Cocoa Island, Maldives (BB)

Spend your days relaxing, you'll enjoy morning and sunset yoga classes as well as the wonderful spa along with the many other activities and water sports offered by the resort.

Day 19: Departure

Transfer by shared speedboat to Male airport for your flight to London.
