Day 1: Depart UK
Depart London Heathrow on an overnight flight via Mumbai to Kochi.
Day 2: Kochi
Transfer by private vehicle to the hotel for a three-night stay. The afternoon is at leisure.
Overnight: Bruntons Boat Yard
Day 3: Kochi
Enjoy a day of sightseeing in Kochi, beginning with a visit to the Fort Cochin area, followed by the Dutch Palace, Jewish synagogue and St. Francis and Mattancherry.
In the afternoon visit to a Brahmin’s house where Ms Balamani will make a kolom in front of her house – a daily ritual which is considered to bring goodness into the house. Later pay a visit to the home of a Konkini family.

Day 4: Kochi
Rise early to the fishermen’s beach to watch the boatmen bringing in their fresh catches for auction. Head to a beautiful local house set by the backwater to enjoy breakfast before leaving for the village area by tuk-tuk to visit a lively market.
This evening watch a traditional Kathakali Dance performance.

Day 5: Munnar
Travel by private vehicle to Munnar to stay overnight.
Join a guided walk through the tea plantations, learning about the tea cultivation, and viewing the planting and picking methods.
Overnight: Windermere Estate
Day 6: Periyar
Visit the Tea Museum and local markets before travelling by private vehicle to Periyar for a two-night stay.
This evening enjoy a Kalaripayattu performance, the oldest form of martial arts.

Join the Periyar Bouquet Trail, a short programme around Kumily that gives visitors a taste for village life, before taking the Green Walk, a trek offering excellent opportunities to watch birds, butterflies and other wildlife in a range of habitats.
