Major Changes to Gatwick Express Service

Major Changes to Gatwick Express Service

12/2/2015,

Gatwick Express has announced major changes to their train services over the Christmas period. As of 10pm on the 24th December until 4am on the 4th of January there will be no Gatwick Express services. This is due to the main line between East Croydon and Redhill being temporarily closed as Network Rail carries out major engineering works in Purley.  Gatwick Express apologises for any inconvenience this may cause, however this closure is due to essential work being carried out on the tracks, bridges, and signalling and power equipment.

If you were planning to travel on Gatwick Express, please be aware that there will be no train services running on Christmas Day. From the 26th December a revised Southern and Thameslink train services, as well as rail replacement buses will operate between Gatwick Airport and London. Normal service will continue early morning on the 4th January.

The journey between London Victoria and Gatwick will take approximately 90 minutes during the work, so be sure to allow extra time for your journey.
