BA Announce New Flight Routes

10/23/2015,

British Airways have recently announced several new flight routes both within Europe and further afield.

It was announced that as of May 2016 BA will begin flying direct to New York from Gatwick airport, saving time for travellers from the South getting to the airport. Previously holidaymakers would have to journey to Heathrow airport for a direct flight, but now will be saved the extra time and traffic jams. The daily flights will depart at 16:00 to arrive at 19:00 US time, and return at 10.10 the following day.

Alongside the New York flight, several new European routes from Heathrow airport have also been announced. BA will now fly from Heathrow to Biarritz, France twice a week as of 1st May 2016, from the 29th April they will fly to Menorca, Spain four times a week, and to Palermo, Sicily twice weekly from the 30th April. Flight routes coming into fruition slightly sooner include twice weekly flights to Salzburg, Austria as of the 5th December 2015, and 3 flights a week to Reykjavik, Iceland as of 25th October 2015.

New European flights will also be leaving from Gatwick airport, including four flights a week to Porto, Portugal from the 11th February and three flights a week to Valencia, Spain as of 6th November. There will also be a new flight to Bergerac, France from London City airport 4 times a week from 1st May, and a flight to Salzburg from Glasgow once a week from 12 December 2015.

The selection of new flights will make it more convenient for those wishing to travel abroad in the coming months.
