This 14-day itinerary encapsulates the colour and vibrancy of wonderful Rajasthan by combining the classic Golden Triangle of New Delhi, Agra and Jaipur with the popular additions of Jodhpur, Udaipur and the charming town of Deogarh. Perfect for those dipping their toes into the vibrant country that is India.

Best time to go

India is a vast country with distinct weather patterns in each region. October to March is the best time to plan your visit, particularly for festivals. October and November is Diwali, March is Holi, and November is Pushkar.

Day 1: 

Overnight flight to Delhi from UK.

Day 2: Leela Palace, Delhi (BB)

Afternoon at leisure. Optional: private evening tour of Akshardham Temple with Musical Fountain Show (additional cost). 

Day 3: Leela Palace, Delhi (BB)

Enjoy a full days' guided orientation tour of both Old and New Delhi. Meander through the narrow winding lanes of colourful old Delhi and delight in a rickshaw ride through the bustling bazaars, before heading off to explore New Delhi in the afternoon.  

Day 4: ITC Mughal, Agra (BB)

Leisurely breakfast before setting out in your private vehicle for a four hour drive south to the city of Agra. You have the remainder of the day to enjoy at leisure. Optional: In the evening you can enjoy “Mohabbat The Taj” show (additional cost). The world of romance and eternal love personified in the epic love story of the emperor Shah Jahan and his beloved Mumtaz Mahal, is woven into the mesmerizing Dance-Drama.

Day 5: ITC Mughal, Agra (BB)

An early rise today to view the Taj Mahal at dawn;  watch as the colours change on this iconic building as the sun rises. After breakfast back at the hotel, the Red Fort is your next stop, where amazing red sandstone and marble palaces form a walled palatial city. Enjoy afternoon high tea with a local family before setting off for the Kachhpura Walk, an amazing behind-the-scenes of life and times throbbing in the shadows of the Taj Mahal. Enjoy sunset views of the Taj Mahal from across the river.

Day 6: Samode Haveli, Jaipur (BB)

Leave Agra behind and set off for the Pink City of Jaipur; the drive will take approximately 5 hours. Enroute, visit the ghost city Fatehpur Sikri which remained untouched for over 400 years now and it's palaces are a remainder of the extravagance of the Mughals. It is the best example of the culmination of Hindu and Muslim architecture. 

Day 7: Samode Haveli, Jaipur (BB)

Enjoy an early breakfast this morning before heading off to the hilltop fortress at Amber. Continue with a tour of the city including the City Palace, still used by the former Royal family today. Hawal Mahal or the Palace of Winds as it is known is the starting point for your fascinating walk in the old city. Mingle and talk with the locals, watch the local artisans at their craft and observe some of the regions culinary delights. 

Day 8: Raas, Jodhpur (BB)

After a leisurely breakfast, you undertake a scenic drive to Jodhpur, by private vehicle.  Your journey time is approximately 6 ½  hours. 

Day 9: Raas, Jodhpur (BB)

Described by Rudyard Kipling as ‘the creation of angels, fairies and giants’ Mehrangarh Fort is the most impressive fortress in Rajasthan and where you will begin your tour today. In contrast the afternoon will be spent at the bustling Clock tower market that is Sardar bazaar. 

Day 10:  Deogarh Mahal, Deogarh (BB)

A four hour drive through the countryside will take you to Deogarh, set amongst the lakes and hills. This afternoon enjoy a village safari by ‘Rural Ramble’  vehicle  providing a cultural experience, which encompasses all that this region has to offer. Meet the locals and appreciate their hospitality, various customs, ceremonies and the abundant wildlife. A  rare privilege of being welcomed into people's homes and interacting. 

Day 11: Trident, Udaipur (BB)

Drive through the world’s oldest mountains the Aravalli Hills, enroute to the White Marble Jain Temples at Ranakpur. An important site of pilgrimage for the Jain, the 1144 carved pillars are a wonder themselves each intricately carved and unique in design. After lunch at the Fateh Bagh Palace (own expense), continue onto the fairy tale city of Udaipur.  Optional: guided heritage walk of the ghats and historic temples (additional cost).  

Day 12: Trident, Udaipur (BB)

A morning city tour takes in the Jagdish Temple and City Palace whilst the afternoon affords a more relaxed form of sightseeing as you head off on a boat trip of Lake Pichola.  

Day 13: The Leela Palace, Delhi (BB)

Eklingji and Nagda Temples are your last cultural fixes before heading off to the airport and your short flight to Delhi. The remainder of the day is spent at leisure. 

Day 14:  Departure

Transfer to Delhi airport for your return daylight flight back to the UK arriving the same day.
