Best time to go

Generally speaking, the best months to visit China are in the spring or autumn months of April, May, September and October as temperatures are warm and it is fairly dry.

Day 1: Departure
Depart from the UK on your overnight flight to Beijing.

Day 2:  Beijing
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to the Shangri-La hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day exploring China's historic and vibrant capital city on your own.

Day 3:  Beijing
Your first glimpse of Beijing begins with a full day tour including the highlights of Tiananmen Square, The Forbidden City and the Summer Palace.

Day 4:  Beijing
Visit China's most renowned monument - The Great Wall. After lunch, visit the Ming Tomb, the ancient burial ground of the Chinese emperors. Tonight enjoy a traditional Beijing Duck Dinner, a Chinese delicacy.

Day 5: Xi’an
Visit the Temple of Heaven. Tour by old-fashioned pedicab through the Hutongs and explore the oldest part of the city for a real insight into traditional Chinese lifestyle. This evening fly to Xi’an  and check into the Westin Xi’an Hotel for a two night stay.

Day 6:  Xi’an
Today's excursion will take you to one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in the world, the Museum of Terracotta Warriors and Horses. Later head to the Wild Goose Pagoda, before sampling a dumpling feast and an exquisite traditional Tang Dynasty Show.

Day 7:  Guilin
Your day will start with a tour of the Ancient City Wall followed by a flight to Guilin, which is said to be "the best scenery under heaven". On arrival transfer to the Shangri La Hotel where you overnight for two nights.

Day 8:  Guilin
Delight in a memorable 3-hour Li River Cruise - one of China's best known naturally scenic areas. The rest of the day is free in Yangshuo. In the afternoon, you will return to Guilin.

Day 9:   Pudong
Today's excursion will take you to the Reed Flute Cave, the natural underground wonder, followed by a visit to Fubo Hill before your flight to Shanghai. Transfer to the Pudong Shangri La Hotel for a two-night stay.

Day 10:  Pudong
A full day tour begins with a visit to the Yu Gardens, a walk around the Old town and a visit to the Shanghai Museum, with its 120,000 piece collection of Chinese ancient treasures. After the included dinner you will enjoy a famous Shanghai Acrobatic show.

Day 11: Hong Kong
In the afternoon, fly to Hong Kong, and admire its amazing modernity and cosmopolitan culture. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to The Icon Hotel for a two-night stay.

Day 12:  Hong Kong
Enjoy a half day tour of Hong Kong including Victoria Peak, Stanley Market, Repulse Bay and the fishing village at Aberdeen. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure.

Day 13:  Departure
Take the last few hours to enjoy your time in Hong Kong before returning on your overnight flight to the UK.
