  Dining

Angelini - Angelini cooks up authentic Italian cuisine, accompanied by a selection of world class wines. The setting is beautiful with splashes of gold and black creating chic atmosphere, but really it's the food that takes centre stage here and has been voted the best Italian restaurant in Bangkok, by readers of Bangkok Dining & Entertainment magazine for 11 years in a row.

Horizon Cruise - Hop on board the Shangri-La Bangkok's own boat and embark on a river dining cruise down the Chao Phraya River. It makes for an unforgettable dining experience and is not to be missed.

NEXT2 Caf'e - Resting alongside the river, NEXT2 Caf'e serves up its famous buffet. With a market-style spread you have a choice of the world's best foods to plate up with. There is also the choice of Continental or Asian a la carte menu to choose from too.

Salathip - Thai-style teak pavilions host a quintessential Thai dining experience by the River of Kings. Dine the true taste of Asia while watching a classical Thai dance performance - it makes for the perfect evening and something not to be missed.

Shang Palace - Indulge in the best of regional Chinese cuisine in the elegant surrounds of the Shang Palace. The restaurant is particularly renowned for its delicious steamed seafood, noodles, dim sum and tasty barbecued meats.

The Chocolate Boutique - For every sweet tooth's dream, The Chocolate Boutique is just that. A huge selection of chocolates from deep dark, to the sweet white and creamiest milks. A selection of creative drinks and signature chocolate cakes, pralines and pastries are also for dining in or takeaway.

There is a choice of three bars to pick from. There's the Lobby Lounge, perfect for all-day dining and hosts a great afternoon tea sitting. The Riverside Lounge which is exclusive to the Krungthep Wing, and The Long Bar which is the perfect sport for a pre-dinner cocktail or a late night toast.

There are 802 guestrooms and suites across two towers - and although this seems big, you are not lost as an individual to the staff. Split into two distinctive sections; the Shangri-La Wing and the Krungthep Wing, each displaying raw Thai beauty through traditional silks and bespoke teak wood. They showcase Bangkok at its very best with either a city or river view, and if you are staying in the Krungthep Wing, you'll be spoilt with garden balconies overlooking a private pool and the Chao Phraya River. Each room and suites is impeccably finished, and the true Shangri-La luxury continues throughout. You can expect a separate bath and rain shower, a pillow menu and sumptuous beds - that will help even the lightest sleeper drift off.
