Shinta Mani Wild

Summary

Surrounded by three of Cambodia's wildest and most important national parks, Shinta Mani Wild's location is just one of the factors contributing to the property's exclusive feel. On the back of his hotel success in Siem Reap, Bill Bensley, the designer and owner of Shinta Mani Wild, identified and set out to protect a river valley from poaching, mining and logging, but also to introduce new and sustainable opportunities for local people. As a result, this new luxury camp was born, ensuring little impact was made to the surrounding area. The property hugs 1.5 km (0.9 miles) of river and merges seamlessly into its surroundings, with 15 ultra-luxurious safari-style tents nicely spaced to ensure privacy. Each tent is designed with an indoor-outdoor living concept in mind. Dining options include the Landing Zone Bar and Waterfall Restaurant which combine locally foraged ingredients with exotic global tastes. Boulders Spa offers a full-service, Khmer-inspired spa experience. Several activities exist for those looking to further explore the park. Finally, this accommodation is not without its extravagances: you the option to arrive by zip line!

Our thoughts

Enjoy opulence and adventure in the Cambodian wilderness with this exciting new offering from renowned designer Bill Bensley

The Boulders Spa offers natural and organic spa treatments using products by Khmer Tonics. The camp is also set amongst beautiful natural scenery, with sweeping views across the river and jungle, best enjoyed from the comfort of your private deck or luxurious outdoor bathtub. A refreshing pool is located within the heart of the resort, and the resort’s zipline is the perfect way for adventurous souls to arrive in style. Locally sourced food will be served at the Waterfall Restaurant, and the Landing Zone Bar is the perfect spot for an evening drink.

  Dining

Meals are served either in your tent, or in the Waterfall Restaurant where the locally sourced food is provided and served by graduates of the Shinta Mani Foundation programme.

The 15 luxurious tents are perched either at the edge or directly over the roaring rapids, allowing for a truly unique and immersive natural experience. The spacious rooms are designed in classic safari style, recalling the age of exploration with their whimsical décor and authentic Khmer objets d’art. Guests can enjoy the full services of a Bensley Butler as they unwind between excursions.

Activities at Shinta Mani Wild are both creative and varied, limited only by the imagination of the guests and their guides. Explore the nearby estuarine waterway from the comfort of a luxury expedition boat or embark on foot into the jungle with the rangers to study the forest and its resident wildlife and examine findings from camera traps. Enjoy a cooking class with a difference, as the talented local chef guides you through the jungle foraging for wild fungi, plants and fruits.

Due to the wild setting and raised structure of the property, children under the age of 13 are not permitted at Shinta Mani Wild.
