Day 1: Arrival – San Jose

Arrival to the Juan Santamaria Airport. A representative from Costa Rican Trails will meet you at the airport to take you to the Presidente Hotel, located in down town San Jose.

Day 2: Pacuare Whitewater Rafting - Arenal

Today your adventure starts at the Pacuare River for a rafting trip. This river has been declared a Wild and Scenic River, and will offer you some of the finest white water in Latin America, winding deep inside of one of the world’s most impressive rainforests. Breakfast en route and lunch served along the river. From here head to Arenal via shuttle bus to explore the area. Visit the fascinating sights that this vast area has to offer, from the volcanoes to cloud forests with an incredibly diverse population of wildlife.

Day 3: Arenal

Spend your morning at leisure, and late afternoon visit the trails of El Silencio. After that head to the volcanic thermal mineral pools at Tabacón Hot Springs, where you can enjoy a healthy and relaxing soak and enjoy local delicacies at dinner. Dinner is included and served at Tabacon Hot Springs restaurant.

Day 4: Arenal – Monteverde

Depart in the morning to Arenal Lake where you will travel by boat to the other side of the river. Once you get there, a bus will take you to the city of Monteverde, which was founded about 40 years ago by some conservation-minded Quakers, looking for a peaceful place to live. Its Cloud Forest Reserve is one of the most outstanding wildlife sanctuaries in the tropics. Check in at Hotel Trapp Family Lodge and spend your evening browsing the area.

Day 5: Sky Trek - Tram

Enjoy a energetic start to your day with a visit to the Sky Zipline & Tram facilities. This is a system of seven platforms suspended above the ground in the midst of tree boughs. Zip lines attached from one platform to another will allow you to zip across the world famous Cloud Forest of Monteverde in a 5,249 feet ride that would lead you up to Costa Rica Continental Divide.

You will have a free afternoon for optional tours such as horseback riding or a guided visit into the reserve (not included into package)

Day 6: Monteverde - Jaco

After breakfast you will depart on a shuttle bus towards the Central Pacific Coast to the small town of Jaco, and check in at Club del Mar hotel. Spend the afternoon at leisure exploring the surroundings. Jaco offers many popular vacation spots like a well-developed beach town, a biological reserve, a national marine park, the famous Carara National Park and more. Spend your day taking a look around all that this city has to offer.

Day 7: Kayak in Agujitas Beach

Start your day with a drive to Agujitas Beach for an exciting sea kayaking adventure. Imagine yourself cruising silently past spectacular cliffs full of pelicans and frigate birds in a craft pioneered by the Polynesians. Paddle by yourself, accompanied by up to 7 paddlers and your guide or steersperson (timonel). It's like rafting on the ocean to a secluded beach. The warm waters of the Pacific are home to a large variety of tropical fish that are looking forward to swim with you, as you snorkel and explore the underwater world with your guide.

Enjoy a leisurely afternoon at the beach or hike up at the Carara Biological Reserve (tours not included into package)

Day 8: Jaco - San Jose – Departure

Private transfer to San Jose airport.
