Day 1:
Fly overnight from London Heathrow to Delhi.
Days 2-3:
Upon arrival at Delhi airport meet your transfer to take you to the Imperial Hotel for a two night stay in a Heritage Room. Renowned as one of Asia’s finest hotels, The Imperial is a legend that offers a unique experience embracing facets of India’s history, which shows in its contemporary colonial interiors and style. Day 4:
Transfer from Delhi to Agra for a single nights stay at The Oberoi Armavilas, which is the only hotel in Agra with a view of the Taj Mahal from the lobby through to the penthouse suites. The hotel is built using elements of Moghul architecture – domes, terraces, courtyards, arches, fountains and reflection pools. Many of the rooms have private balconies where guests can sit and watch the sun set onto the world’s greatest monument to love. See it in the morning as it emerges from a misty dawn, and again at sunset when it glows a rosy gold. In between spend time enjoying the swimming pool, fitness centre and the spa. (BB)
Days 5-6:
Travel from Agra to Ranthambore to stay two nights in a luxury tent at the Oberoi Vanyavilas. Nestling in the natural beauty of the wilderness, this jungle camp of twenty five air-conditioned tents, complete with spacious bathrooms, satellite TV, a private verandah and a walled garden, sits at the edge of Ranthambore National Park, one of the few places in India where the majestic tigers can be seen. The luxury tents with finely embroidered canopies, luxurious bathrooms and private walled gardens are in perfect contrast to the ruggedness of the jungle. Guests set off in the early morning wrapped in blankets and with a hot water bottle to tour the park and hope for a sighting, before spending the day relaxing in the camp’s glorious 20 acres, swimming in the large pool or just lounging nearby and enjoying the spa or the fully equipped fitness centre. Days 7-8:
Transfer from Ranthambore to Jaipur for a two night stay in a Palace Room of the Taj Rambagh Palace. This is the grandest of the Indian palace hotels and a former home of the Jaipur royal family –the Rajmata, Queen Mother, still lives in the grounds. Known as the jewel of Jaipur it is located in extensive gardens, with lawns large enough for polo matches and is a short drive from the city centre with its plethora of gem dealers, markets and museums. It offers guests elegantly appointed rooms, marbled corridors and majestic gardens that echo’s the history and every corner has a story to tell. (BB)
Days 9-10:
Fly from Jaipur to Udaipur for a two night stay in a Luxury Room of the stunning Lake Palace, which is situated in the beautiful state of Rajasthan. The shimmering marble fortress appears to float effortlessly on Lake Pichola. Guest rooms are filled with intricately carved wood furniture, local hand printed linins and authentic Indian murals.
