Tiger Tops Tharu Lodge

Summary

Established in 1973, Chitwan National Park is the oldest national park in Nepal. Classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984, it is home to a wealth of rare and endangered species- including the Bengal tiger, the one-horned rhinoceros and the sloth bear. It is a birder’s paradise, and a nature-lover’s haven. Situated on the boundary between the park and the surrounding townships, Tiger Tops Tharu Lodge was Chitwan’s first safari camp. Powered by solar energy and almost completely self-sufficient, Tharu Lodge offers its guests the opportunity to explore this beautiful jungle region through a range of safari options that includes elephant trekking, river cruises and jeep tours. It also abuts the rural village of Tharu, and works closely with the local community to allow guests an insight into traditional Nepalese life.
