Best time to go

The best time to visit Kerala is from October to March, when the weather lacks the humidity of the summer months and is therefore at its most pleasant. The winter months follow in the wake of monsoon season, and many of Kerala’s famous temple festivals take place at this time.

At Kumarakom, the pace of life is deliciously slow, the serenity of its surroundings providing the perfect atmosphere for absolute relaxation. Opportunities for romance exist at every turn, and as such, this is the perfect destination for honeymooning couples. Ettukettu

Evoking the regal architecture of Kerala’s past, Ettukettu is Kumarakom’s main restaurant. Here, sumptuous buffet spreads are served at breakfast, lunch and dinner, and guests may choose from a wide array of internationally inspired dishes. However, Ettukettu specialises in ethnic Kerala cuisine that showcases the region’s diverse culture.

Vembanad

Situated on the banks of Kumarakom’s placid backwaters, this beautiful dinner spot offers guests the chance to soak in the spectacular sunset scenery whilst sampling Kerala’s famous seafood dishes. With an impressive menu featuring every kind of seafood imaginable, this is a dining experience not to be forgotten.

Thattukada

This traditional teashop is truly a feast for the senses- from the delicious flavours of its freshly fried local snacks, to the tantalising aromas rising from its ever-boiling tea kettles. Thattukada is a wonderful place to simply relax, to socialise, and to soak in the resort’s rustic ambience.

Pool Pavilion

Set on the banks of the lake and close to the resort’s infinity pool, this exclusive pavilion offers the chance to enjoy an intimate dinner whilst revelling in the pleasures of mouth-watering food and impeccable service. With only a limited number of tables, the Pool Pavilion must be reserved in advance.

Each of the rooms, villas and suites at Kumarakom Lake Resort blend traditional Kerala architecture with exquisite interiors and the very latest modern amenities. Designed in the style of 16th century manas, or homesteads, villas and suites feature luxurious, open-roofed bathrooms set in their own private courtyard.
